The Sermon on The Mount Continued....
Let's get onto the next line of this incredible speech and all encompassing principles for living the good life from JC himself. The second line says, "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." I have always relied on God in all trouble. Mourning is not a fun thing. Especially when you lose someone you love so deeply. However, four years ago when my husband got very sick and was so critical that he nearly died, I remember this overwhelming feeling of grace and strength that came over me. I'd never really experienced before, but I realized after we made it through this trying time that it was God's Grace. Indeed, I did not mourn and I did not crumble. God literally swooped in and filled me up with so much of his spirit that there was none of me left...only Him and he carried me and my family through this dark time. I believe that this is why human beings need to seek "solitude" or "aloneness" when trouble hits and we mourn because you must make space for Him and hear Him. God is the one and only Source you will ever need. Often human beings leave God to the last minute...the final hour. When the finances are bad, when they get sick, when someone they love is in danger and of course we all have a choice whether we seek our God or not. Regardless...if you seek him now or later, he will swoop in and comfort you. My preference is to seek him early on and everyday - for then I trust him and I always know that his Grace is beside me, in me and all around me. Seek God and make him your absolute first priority he will comfort you, relax you, and find the sacred for you right in the middle of our stressed out crazy world. God is so good. XO
